I love being an orthodontist! It is such a rewarding process to see how much positive change happens when our patients' teeth transform from crowded and crooked teeth to a beautiful smile. Watching our patients develop and grow, gain more self-confidence, and feel better about themselves always makes my day! I truly appreciate the privilege and responsibility parents give me when they entrust their children to my care, and I work hard to do my best for them.

My education in dentistry and orthodontics has provided me with a strong foundation of knowledge and experience. In addition to the experience gained over 30 years in practice, I have published articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics and I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics

My patients deserve the best, and enhancements to my knowledge and skill allow me to provide them with well founded, scientifically sound treatment that is up to date. I am an active member of several professional associations that provide me with opportunities for continuing education. By regular participation, I am able to stay current with the latest technology and orthodontic treatments.

Outside of the office, my special interests include addressing the issues of community hunger and planting trees to improve the environment. In my spare time, I can be found kite surfing, SUP surfing, running on the beach, and enjoying a vigorous game of tennis! Weekends revolve around family time with my wife and two children. I also enjoy traveling as well as spending time with friends here on our island home.

Dr. Aurelia Bonham DDS MS

I have the best job on the planet—I get to meet so many people and make a difference in so many ways by creating beautiful smiles. I am excited to treat all my patients, as the transformations they achieve will benefit them long after they leave our practice. Perhaps it will help them to succeed in their college interview, perhaps it will help them to meet their future spouse, or perhaps it will give them a boost in confidence that will positively affect them in whatever they do in the future. Our patients become a part of our practice—our Bonham & Bonham ohana.

I am committed to ongoing education in order to provide my patients with the best and most up-to-date care and service possible. Attending continuing education meetings locally, nationally, and internationally allows me to learn ideas and techniques that ultimately benefit my patients, as they get the most comfortable treatment available.

I love working with my husband, Dr. Paul. We have two wonderful children and a Portuguese Water Dog named Moses. One of the most wonderful things about Maui is the people of the island. I enjoy spending time with my husband, our children, and our friends who have become like a family to both of us. Although I prefer to stay on the beach when Dr. Paul is carving up the waves on his boards and kite, I do enjoy being active. I love ballroom dancing, stand-up paddling, hiking, and traveling.
